[Event Review] Baharat, An Exclusive Iftar Buffet in Pacific Place

Time goes by so fast, don't you think? It seems like Ramadhan month was just yesterday.



To welcome the fasting month, last tuesday, 16th July 2015 I was invited to the Grand Opening of Baharat, A pop-up restaurant by The Ritz Carlton. Coming with the tagline 'An Exclusive Iftar Venue', this pop-up restaurant located in the Grand Ballroom Ritz Carlton Pacific Place 4th Floor.


For anyone who loves Arabic foods, surely you'll love Baharat! Because they'll serves you with authentic Arabic foods, not just the main course but also the cookies. But not just that, they also serves Indonesian foods, Italian spices and some cakes. So as I told you that they're a Pop-up restaurant (or you can call it temporary), doesn't mean it's just gonna be a simple ballroom because they transform it to an Arabic-ambience, complete with the lavish tent, dim light and comfortable seats which makes Baharat looks elegant.


We also entertained with the Music shows and Belly dance by Liuba Maltseva, not to forget the Cooking Demo from Chef Khaled Maumoud Rashwan as the guest pastry chef. Chef Khaled showed us how to cook some authentic cookies a la Middle Eastern like Baklava, Rolades, and some other cookies that are usually consume for breakfasting. Interesting, right? :D



Now let's talk about the food!


What you usually eat for the breakfasting? Mostly cookies, eh? So here are some cookies in Baharat...



Literary you can find lots of mid-east cookies here, from Baklava(the famous one), Balah el Sham, Faloodeh, Dates Mamoul, Baklava Ice Cream, even Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Ice Cream cake, oh oh! Also Green Banana Ice Cream, an authentic Indonesian dessert.


They're mostly taste sweets #ofcourse. My favorite are Chocolate Ice Cream cake and Baklava. The Green Banana Ice Cream also taste good, you can put the ice cubes as you want. Red Velvet taste good but not that great, I prefer with cheese cream lol


How about the Main course?


I love the main courses here!! There are Chicken Shawarma, Lamb Harirra, Markloube, Kalimantan Rice (Uhh?), and variety choices of Sauces. Honestly it's too many to mention haha, but surely my favorite are these three menu I mentioned first. Arabic foods is fit better to my mouth than Indian, I guess.




For the drinks they simply serves us Mineral Water, Milk Tea (With the taste of Dates) and the other one I forgot to try. They're all refill, so don't be afraid you'll get thirsty here :D



Overall, for me Baharat surely brings an Exclusive Iftar Venue, as their tagline says. With the spacious and elegant venue, along with the varieties of foods and cookies that you can choose, what could I ask for more? So bring your family, workmates, or friends to enjoy an Exclusive Iftar in Baharat for only 250k++/person! They will be open from 17:30 to 20:00 :)
