It was a typical evening that I was so hungry and had no idea of what and where to eat. I opened a food apps and found ‘Over Rice’ in the nearby tab. Well, my office is located in Sudirman Park Apt area, which is close to the City Walk where Over Rice opens their restaurant in the 1st floor. Over Rice is an Asian restaurant that speciliazing in Chinese and Thailand Cuisine.

Without no more consideration (and of course my singing belly) I went to that restaurant. It wasn’t hard to find the location, you just have to go to the 1st floor by the escalator and walk straight then you’ll find a clear sign written ‘Over Rice’. The place is quite big, there are 2 part, Outdoor and Indoor. I can see that Over Rice can accommodate many visitors, maybe up to 60 visitors.

The restaurant concept doesn’t really interpreting an ‘Asian’ restaurant, tho. It looks more like an European cafĂ©, with some modern touch (I like the pendant lamp!). In my Opinion, Over Rice isn’t a restaurant that can make you stay for a long time, because in the peak time, the restaurant can be really crowded and the distance between the seats are too close, It won’t be so comfy for me. But fortunately, in the other side they provide the Sofa seats which is more comfortable for me (Yeah I’m a sofa-lover lol)

By the way, the have this sloganfast, fresh, and consistently outstanding’. Let’s see whether it’s true or not…

Mushroom Chicken Noodle (IDR 25K)

From the name itself shows that it’s a just normal Mushroom Chicken Noodle, but they are using small noodle for this dish. The taste is just fine, the chicken is tasty and the green cabbage is fresh. I like it dry instead of putting broth in it.

Yang Chow Fried Chicken (IDR 40K)

The portion is quite big. They put carrot and radish cuts, also green cabbage. Uniquely they put a chicken that’s cooked like a pork for the topping, too bad it’s so hard, I can barely chew it. The rice is well-cooked, so it can make a good fried noodle. The spices are perfect as well, it’s not too salty neither tasteless. I like the prawn because it’s fresh (I could make the difference). But I don’t like the peas.

It’s desserts time!

Sticky Rice With Mango (IDR 18K)

Sticky Rice in Indonesia means ‘Ketan’. I bet you know ‘Ketan’ right? Well, Sticky Rice with Mango is one of the authentic Thailand dish that we can try in Over Rice. Luckily, there’s a discount for this menu when I visited there, the price became IDR 16K :D. The taste is pretty good, I love how they combine the mango, milk cream and the sticky rice. You have to eat them together! :9

Red Pomegranate Ice (FREE)

Another lucky event! I got this menu for Free. How could? So, OpenSnap with Over Rice was helding a promotion that if we upload a photo of Over Rice’s dish, we will have a Red Pomegranate Ice for free. Why not try? I did and I got that for free. Hehe. I love the coconut milk, also the red pomegranate but not what’s inside of it. So, inside the red promegranate there’s some kind of radish and it doesn’t really match the taste.

Thai Iced Tea (IDR 21K)

In Over Rice, you have to stir your own Thai Ice Tea while usually Thai Iced Tea is served ready-to-drink. But it looks better for a photo tho :p. The serving-size is medium, not too small nor too big. It’s a perfect size for me. But the isn’t really satisfying, it’s too sweet for me. They should put less sugar, but the milk is fine, it’s well-blend with the tea.

Sweet Ice Tea (IDR 13K)

The Sweet Ice Tea also served with medium-size. They separate the tea and sugar so you can determine the sugar-level by yourself. In my experience, I put all the sugar and it tasted just perfect.

It was a pleasant experience to visit Over Rice. The waitresses are informative and nice. And luckily it wasn’t crowded when I visited there because it’s evening, so I can stay a lil bit longer with no rush. But if you visit there in the peak time such as lunch time, you gotta be ready to eat in rush, or maybe getting into the waiting list. But Over Rice is worth to try, don’t forget to order the Sticky Rice with Mango. Maybe a suggestion from me that they should make the place more comfortable. So if you’re craving for Malaysian and Thailand Cuisin, put Over Rice on your list.

Overall Score 8.3/10
